As The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild approaches its fourth anniversary this year, players are continuing to push the game to its limits with incredible skill and perhaps a hint of luck. In this vein, one player took it upon himself to land a 1,400 metre shot, nearly 4,600 feet for non-metric readers, with pinpoint precision using the Breath of the Wild Bow. The player had to use a combination of skill, in-game knowledge, and exploit to pull off the shot that instantly killed the Guardian Stalker. Granted, taking out one of the strongest enemies in Breath of the Wild with a single shot is already an impressive feat on its own.

An additional wrinkle of this trick shot is about Breath of the Wild Guardians in a little detail, where hitting one with an ancient arrow doesn’t usually kill him in one hit. It actually requires a direct shot in the small glowing eye in the centre of the enemy’s head that will let an ancient arrow land a one-hit kill a Guardian Stalker. This means that not only did the shot require the player to track an arrow for nearly a mile across the map to make sure that the enemy was loaded, he also had to hit a precision point to land the kill.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is available now for Switch.
