When people watch streaming shows without paying for subscriptions, the Mandalorian takes first place as the most pirated show of 2020. Disney Plus is getting more enticing with each passing day and that is largely thanks to The Mandalorian, consolidating at over 80 million subscribers worldwide. After its second season, The Mandalorian remains Disney’s biggest new seller and the popularity of the series has driven the company to schedule a range of new Star Wars shows for the future, including several direct spin-offs from it. The Mandalorian, however, still gets quite a lot of unofficial internet credentials in spite of all its official success.

The Mandalorian has ended the reign of Game of Thrones for almost a decade as the world’s most pirated TV show, according to TorrentFreak, climbing up three places from its previous placement in 2019. The Boys and Westworld round out the remainder of the podium, meaning that the three most in-demand shows will usually require consumers to subscribe to three separate platforms in 2020: Disney Plus, Amazon Prime Video, and HBO.

It’s worth mentioning at the beginning of 2020, Disney Plus was not immediately available in several countries. For example, the service was only officially launched in Europe in March 2020, in India in April and in September in more European countries, before finally being available in Latin America last November. What this means is that until very recently, even those who were able to pay for Disney Plus would have not had the opportunity to do so.

This is the way.
