A lot of interesting information involving future updates to Genshin Impact has been coming out lately, and it’s all been courtesy of the leakers and dataminers. First, there was the Transient Resin leak revealed by members of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlour Discord server a few days ago, and now the same Discord group is revealing a set of new weapons that may be coming to the expansive game.
Given that Genshin Impact releases updates quite frequently, leaks and datamining have become a fairly common practice for members of the RPG’s community. Past leaks have revealed new characters and stats ahead of their intended release as well as the character’s animations and abilities in some cases.
Genshin Impact developer miHoYo has claimed the leaks and datamines are harmful to the game and its community, however this has done little to slow the flow of new information coming from dataminers and beta testers. Indeed, the newest weapons datamine is one of the most expansive leaks yet. The information comes from Twitter user Zluet who states they are sharing content discovered by the Wangsheng Funeral Parlour Discord community and further mentions that just because the weapons were discovered within the game, doesn’t necessarily mean they are coming soon.
Among the newly discovered weapons are majestic 5-star bows, claymores, swords, and catalysts, as well as a 4-star catalyst, sword, and bow. This isn’t the first time Genshin Impact weapons have been leaked, and much like most previous datamines, only the names and images of the weapons have been revealed. For now it appears the weapon’s abilities and possible stat boosts remain a mystery.
Visually, however, the weapons look as beautiful as ever. The swords would fit perfectly in Genshin Impact‘s common but underappreciated character Xingqiu’s hands, and the bows and claymores have a certain level of flair to their designs that fans have come to expect from the game. The leaked 5-star polearm, Regicide, also has a level of Genshin Impact charm in its appearance and would look right at home in Xiao’s grip.
While it remains to be seen when, if at all, these weapons will become playable in the game, a version 1.5 update is expected to come to Genshin Impact at the end of April, so it is possible some of the weapons revealed in the datamine could come as soon as the update goes live. Regardless, as revealed in a separate leak, version 1.5 may bring house crafting as well as three new events to the RPG, so either way, there will be plenty of new content.
Genshin Impact is available for Mobile, PC, and PS4, and is in development for PS5 and Switch.
