The Call of Duty: Warzone community has recently been up in arms about the Roze skin and its ability to hide in plain sight. The dark-colored skin has been called “pay-to-win,” among many other things, and was released during the Season 5 battle pass. While the developers have not revealed a fix for the skin as of yet, Call of Duty: Warzone players are now finding their own ways to counter the skin’s dark appearance.
The Roze skin has only one advantage; it is completely black, and can easily hide in dark places on the map. While Raven Software is aware of fan complaints, it currently has no patch available for Call of Duty: Warzone’s skin. This has prompted many players to take on this unusual trick when combating players using the Roze skin.
In a post created by TheMazilla on Call of Duty: Warzone’s Reddit page, the player shares their own unique tip to battling the Roze skin. In the clip, the player is seen approaching Roze players and using a brightly colored spray to highlight them. His demonstration is fairly simple, as he just walks up, sprays them with a bright color, then seeks out a new Roze player. While this only lasts until the Roze player’s first death, it does give Call of Duty: Warzone a way to fight against a known exploit.
This trick makes the Roze skinned players now one of the most brightly colored characters on the map. This trick works in the pre-game lobby and within the Gulag, allowing players a chance to make them far more noticeable during a Call of Duty: Warzone round.
In the comments, players have stated that this defense has been around for a while. They are supporting the idea of other players using this defense until a permanent fix has been added to Call of Duty: Warzone. With Roze skin Warzone players knowingly abusing the dark-colored skin’s advantages, it seems that a good spray may be the best way for them to deal with this skin’s exploit.
Call of Duty: Warzone exploits appear without warning, putting many players on the lookout for anything that could be abused or considered pay-to-win within the game. In an effort to make the Warzone environment fairer, these instances should be documented and sent to Raven Software as soon as they are discovered. Otherwise, players may abuse the game environment and use unfair exploits to gain an edge over the competition.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
